The Delivery Center Head is responsible for overseeing all operations and technology delivery functions of Canada Life’s technology delivery center in Bangalore. This includes managing staff, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality service delivery, internal function coordination (HR/Finance/Legal/Ops etc.), and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. The role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the technology landscape and financial services industry.

This role will also oversee all offshore development and operations ensuring efficient management of technology staff and resources.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.    Leadership and Team Management:

a.    Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing delivery teams across various technology functions.
b.    Set clear objectives, provide guidance, and facilitate professional growth and development.
c.    Lead the delivery of development projects, programs and KTLO activities 

2.    Operational Excellence:

a.    Oversee daily operations of the Bangalore delivery center. Ensure projects adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
b.    Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize efficiency, productivity, and quality of service delivery.
c.    Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
d.    Provide new hire training and onboarding for CanadaLife GWG
e.    Resolve any operational issues, risks and challenges pertaining to staff or actual day to day operations
f.    Develop full view of assets and manage these assets to ensure hardware/software is available in enabling the technology staff that is working out of the Bangalore office

3.    Resource management:

a.    Oversee and manage resource allocation to ensure optimal staffing levels for projects.
b.    Ensure efficient utilization of resources to meet project demands and organizational goals
c.    Manage staff augmentation to align with project requirements.

4.    Relationship Management and supplier oversight:

a.    Build and maintain strong relationships with internal technology teams, vendors and leadership at Bangalore office - understanding their needs and expectations.
b.    Act as the primary point of contact for client communication, addressing concerns and resolving issues within SLAs
c.    Provide oversight and governance for Supplier and in particular manage HCL supplier
d.    Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for business growth and expansion. 
e.    Accountable for day to day interactions and communications of delivery with Canada segment leads and leaders to ensure operational efficiency and Global coordination

5.    Financial Management:

a.    Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to ensure profitability and sustainability.
b.    Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to optimize costs and increase revenue.
c.    Implement cost-effective strategies to achieve financial objectives while maintaining service quality. 

6.    Compliance and Risk Management:

a.    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies and procedures.
b.    Identify and mitigate risks, implementing appropriate controls and measures to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation. 
c.    Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to compliance and risk management frameworks.

7.    Strategic Planning and Business Development:

a.    Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
b.    Identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
c.    Drive business development initiatives, including client acquisition, retention, and expansion. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or information Systems with a track record of successfully managing delivery operations.

2.    Best in class technical knowledge i.e. familiarity with the organization’s technology stack and deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development cycles and KTLO best practices

3.    Previous experience in managing staff and a large team/pods of developers and delivery resources

4.    Strong understanding of business principles, operations management, and client relationship management. 

5.    Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. 

6.    Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

7.    Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.

8.    Results-oriented, with a focus on achieving goals and driving business performance.

9.    Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
