JOB SUMMARY:
The Suspense Recon Specialist is responsible for reconciling various G/L accounts, incoming contributions/loan repayments from plans and participants, and all withdrawals. Ensures the suspense are accurately resolved in a timely manner as per the set procedures. Ensure daily reconciliation of aged suspense for assigned company codes, detailing outstanding reconciling items. Regular follow-up/escalate and reach out to associated teams to resolve the age break.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Research discrepancies, work with internal partners for solution of aged suspense items.
- Discrepancies will be discovered through reconciliations of system balances to information received from SAP and internal teams
- Completes periodic reports documenting variance root cause and resolution.
- Verifies problem resolution on a timely and accurate manner.
- Follows up with appropriate teams regarding unresolved outstanding suspense and clear suspense within 30 days.
- Reconcile steps as documented within standard operating procedures.
- Assists internal teams with research on complicated discrepancies
- Complete all daily, monthly, and ad-hoc tasks and reporting accurately
- Escalate all issues promptly and effectively
- Shift Timing: 4:30 PM to 1:30 AM IST – Monday to Friday
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting is a must
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in G/L Reconciliation operations preferred
- Intermediate MS Office Excel and Basic Access skills
- Detail oriented and able to work within prescribed deadlines
- Basic understanding of 401K will be added advantage.
- Strong analytical/problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem-solve effectively
- Strong attention to detail

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as but not limited to; computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to concentrate, talk and hear. This role is regularly required to type, reach with hands and arms, sit for long periods of time, read, write, listen, verbally communicate, present information, respond to questions, problem solve, concentrate and tolerated stress. Many duties will be done while sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
