he Senior Analyst supports the execution and continuous improvement of Empower’s enterprise data governance and knowledge management program. This role partners with business, technology, and risk stakeholders to implement governance standards, resolve complex data and content issues, and advance governance maturity across structured and unstructured data domains.

The position focuses on translating governance frameworks into operational processes, supporting metadata, lineage, data quality, and compliance initiatives, and enabling audit-ready controls. The Senior Analyst also contributes to governance efforts across data product lifecycles and emerging areas such as AI/GenAI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance and knowledge management standards aligned to policies and industry frameworks (e.g., DCAM, DAMA)

  • Define and support data and content classification, stewardship, and lifecycle management practices across business domains

  • Conduct and lead data quality assessments, audits, and remediation efforts; track and report issue resolution and trends

  • Support metadata, catalog, and lineage capabilities (e.g., Collibra), including business glossary and critical data element (CDE) management

  • Partner with data owners, knowledge owners, IT, and the CIO organization to embed governance practices into data product lifecycles

  • Advise stakeholders on data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, SEC/FINRA) and assist in implementing associated controls

  • Contribute to governance of unstructured data and knowledge assets, including taxonomy and classification frameworks

  • Support governance reporting, scorecards, and KPI tracking to measure data quality, adoption, and risk reduction

  • Participate in governance forums and working groups, preparing materials and tracking action items

  • Identify opportunities to automate and standardize governance processes and improve operational efficiency

  • Mentor junior analysts and support data and knowledge literacy initiatives across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 4–7 years of experience in data governance, information governance, or enterprise data management

  • Strong understanding of data quality management, metadata, lineage, and stewardship models

  • Experience supporting or leading governance initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and privacy frameworks (e.g., CCPA, GLBA, ERISA, SEC/FINRA) and ability to translate requirements into governance controls

  • Familiarity with metadata and catalog tools (e.g., Collibra or similar platforms)

  • Understanding of knowledge management and unstructured data governance concepts (e.g., taxonomy, classification)

  • Experience with data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and basic proficiency in SQL ⚠ Confirm technical depth expectations

  • Exposure to AI governance, model risk, or responsible AI practices

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills
