The India Senior Benefits Analyst supports the design, administration, and communication of Empower’s employee benefits programs across India. This role assists in ensuring programs are competitive, compliant with statutory requirements, and aligned with Empower’s global Total Rewards philosophy. The analyst partners closely with HR, vendors, payroll, and global benefits teams to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Administer India statutory and supplemental benefits programs, including:
    • Provident Fund (PF)
    • Employee State Insurance (ESI), where applicable
    • Gratuity
    • Group Medical Insurance (GMC)
    • Group Personal Accident (GPA)
    • Group Term Life (GTL)
    • Wellness programs
  • Manage daily operations such as enrollments, terminations, dependent updates, and changes.
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors, TPAs, and brokers to ensure accuracy and timely service delivery.
  • Support the maintenance of benefits data integrity across HRIS, payroll, and vendor systems.
  • Maintain documentation, policies, and SOPs for benefits programs.
  • Work with insurance carriers, brokers, government bodies, and service partners.
  • Track SLAs, perform vendor scorecards, and monitor claim trends and escalations and provide to HR leadership.
  • Gather information from vendors on tendering, renewals, and pricing to support a comparative analysis of benefits programs done by HR leadership.
  • Produce monthly and quarterly benefits dashboards (utilization, cost trends, claims ratios).
  • Deliver high-quality support through ticket resolution, FAQs, and escalations for both benefit and other general HR questions.
  • Develop and maintain benefits communication materials for India employees.
  • Conduct benefits orientation for new hires.
  • Partner with global and India HR teams to drive wellness and engagement initiatives.
  • Support global benefits surveys, benchmarking, and harmonization projects.
  • Provide support to HR Operations as needed to quickly and accurately resolve more complex HR questions, issues and problems.
  • Participate in global Total Rewards initiatives as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in India benefits administration or Total Rewards. 
  • Strong knowledge of India statutory benefits & labor laws (EPF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments, etc.).
  • Experience working with vendors, TPAs, and brokers.
  • Proficiency in Excel and HR systems (Workday, SAP, Darwin, etc. – tailor based on needs).
  • Experience in a multinational organization or shared services environment preferred.
  • Exposure to benefits renewals, RFPs, or analytics preferred.
  • Understanding of global benefits practices and Total Rewards frameworks preferred.
  • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with benefits costing preferred.
