The Vice President, Enterprise Integration & APIs will lead the strategy, build, and operation of Empower’s enterprise Integration Hub, Streaming Data Platform, API Platform and Gateway, and Decisioning and Orchestration capabilities. This leader will modernize and scale real-time, event-driven data and API infrastructure that powers digital experiences, analytics, AI and ML deployment, and marketing activation, while maintaining high standards of resiliency, security, and regulatory compliance. The role owns enterprise platform direction across multiple engineering and architecture teams and is accountable for reliability, governance, cost transparency, and enterprise adoption.
What you will do:
- Define and execute the enterprise vision, strategy, and operating model for the Integration Hub, Streaming Data Platform, API Platform and Gateway, and Decisioning and Orchestration capabilities.
- Establish these platforms as enterprise products with defined SLAs, adoption targets, lifecycle management, and cost transparency.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across data engineering, software engineering, systems integration, architecture, and platform reliability engineering.
- Drive modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and automated testing.
- Design and oversee scalable, secure, cloud-native architectures aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Enable production deployment and orchestration of AI and ML models within decisioning workflows, ensuring auditability, explainability, and model risk management compliance.
- Partner with Data Science, Risk, Marketing, and Technology stakeholders to operationalize AI and ML and advanced analytics use cases.
- Integrate Customer Data Platforms and marketing technologies with enterprise data and streaming layers to enable real-time segmentation and personalization.
- Embed privacy, consent management, and data governance controls into platform architecture and data flows.
- Maintain first-line risk ownership across platforms, ensuring alignment with model risk management standards, SOX controls, cybersecurity requirements, and third-party risk frameworks.
- Lead platform resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Oversee large, cross-functional programs with multi-million-dollar budgets, driving predictable execution through disciplined portfolio and program management.
- Establish and monitor KPIs including reliability, latency, throughput, adoption, cost efficiency, and control effectiveness.
- Lead managers and senior managers, building organizational depth, succession plans, and technical career pathways.
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and inclusive engineering culture.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10 to 12+ years of progressive experience in technology and or data organizations.
- 5 to 7+ years of experience leading people leaders and senior technical leaders.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale data, integration, or API platforms within a regulated industry.
- Strong expertise in data engineering, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture.
- Experience with API architecture, gateway platforms, and developer enablement frameworks.
- Experience with event streaming technologies and modern systems integration patterns including microservices, service mesh, and hybrid integration.
- Experience operationalizing AI and ML models into production environments.
- Knowledge of model risk management frameworks and regulatory considerations related to model governance and data controls.
- Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms and marketing technology ecosystems.
- Experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs with budget accountability.
- Knowledge of financial services risk and control frameworks.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and enterprise platform contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with disciplined risk management.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Base Salary Range
$187,000.00 - $271,150.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
