The Lead Analyst develops, enhances, and maintains complex operational processes supporting the Company’s general and separate accounts, leveraging multiple front-office investment systems to support portfolio management. This role researches and fulfills complex, ad hoc investment data needs to ensure efficient and accurate data flow, and supports portfolio management, board, risk management, and client reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Portfolio Managers and key internal partners, including Investment Operations, Valuations, and Settlements.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of data flows and the mapping of data fields between investment systems to ensure data integrity and consistency. This includes reviewing data load logs, identifying and resolving errors, and confirming expected results after each load.
  • Own the setup and ongoing maintenance of portfolios, securities, transactions, and pricing to ensure accurate daily representation of managed assets.
  • Reconcile investment data across systems daily, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies to meet operational timelines.
  • Provide analytical and operational support to Portfolio Managers, including:Monitoring portfolio performance and cash flows.Assembling, reviewing, and maintaining investment data. Performing ad hoc and recurring analyses
  • Coordinate, execute, and document complex investment operational processes.
  • Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly reports for Portfolio Management, Boards, Risk Management, and Clients.
  • Identify, research, and document process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in support of trading and portfolio management initiatives.
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes and system enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Math, Accounting or Business Administration required.

  • MBA, CFA or other professional designation preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, math or investment operational role

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of, and experience with, fixed income financial instruments and markets, including commercial mortgage loans.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret and explain complex data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced capabilities in:Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas, linked data sources), Access (e.g., creating tables, running queries, evaluating data, and researching macros), PowerPoint (e.g., developing clear, Board-level presentations), Power BI (e.g., identifying data sources, creating dashboards, and publishing reports for end users)
  • Experience with report design and business intelligence tools such as SAP Crystal Reports, SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WEBi), or similar platforms.
  • Experience using a Bloomberg Terminal, including PORT, is highly desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commitment to professional development; post-graduate education or professional certifications may be required (e.g., MBA, CFA, or similar).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (up to one or two times per year).
