Summary:

We are looking for a skilled MDM Developer to join our Canada Life Data team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Master Data Management solutions that ensure consistency, accuracy, and governance of critical business data across systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MDM tools, data modeling, and integration strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement MDM solutions using tools such as Informatica MDM, IBM Infosphere, or similar platforms.
  • Develop data models, match and merge rules, and workflows to support master data domains (e.g., customer, product, vendor).
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable MDM solutions.
  • Integrate MDM systems with source and target applications using ETL, APIs, or messaging frameworks.
  • Ensure data quality through profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
  • Maintain metadata and documentation for MDM processes and data flows.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot MDM jobs and services to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Support data governance initiatives by enforcing standards and policies related to master data.
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and change management activities.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in MDM development and implementation.
  • Proficiency with MDM tools such as Informatica MDM, Reltio, IBM Infosphere, or Talend.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data quality concepts.
  • Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Specific tools/skillsets:

  • IBM Master Data Management (MDM), IBM Infosphere
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and metadata management.
  • Knowledge of data stewardship and workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Rapidly acquires new knowledge, learns new skills, and applies creative thinking to solve problems while understanding the organization’s vision, purpose, and values
  • Adaptable to changing assignments and product outcomes
  • Directs work of self through goal setting, time management, and planning
  • Meets deadlines through use of time management
  • Identifies prioritization conflicts and works with Program Managers, Project Managers, Senior Software Developers and leaders to resolve
  • Leverages practices to manage and simplify work, and use resources effectively.
