Summary:
We are looking for a Manager Software Data Governance Strategy & Changeto join our Data Governance (DG) team. The primary objective is to enable the organization to leverage data as an strategic enterprise asset, driving business outcomes and achieving Data Governance objectives and moving the organization to a data driven culture. Work with various platforms and business teams/domains to enable data governance roll-out.
The Manager Data Governance Strategy & Change should be tenacious, creative, curious, with an appetite for growth and innovation. This role is critical to promote data governance mandates and key to establishing the foundation for the Company’s maturity. Expertise with proven record of past experiences in change management for data governance is highly desired.
Essential Functions
Be the face to the business as subject matter expert for Data Governance (DG).
Lead and mentor a team of data Governance team to ensure success for the entire team
Oversee the development and execution of DG strategy, mandates, and priorities with capabilities, roadmap and goals
Work with the stakeholders such as Lead Data Stewards, Data Stewards and other data practitioners to continuously ensure that the highest possible levels of commitment and delivery of key DG requirements are applied
Assess the need for change, planning and communicating change, implement change, evaluating and sustaining change
Create communication materials, training modules, procedures, visual presentation materials with the use of diagrams, slides, infographics, etc.
Create monitoring and tracking mechanism for reporting
Present to senior leaders, internal and external business partners, including consultants and contractors
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in Data Governance and 5+ years in leadership team.
Ability to change mindset and drive change to gain acceptance and adoption from business units and stakeholders, including senior executives and internal departments.
Working knowledge of data governance and management technology an asset (e.g. Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Informatica).
Promote a culture of data awareness and literacy and through training, ensuring that data is recognized as a valuable enterprise asset. This includes regular communication with stakeholders, senior executives and influencing stakeholders to adopt best practices in data governance principles, metadata, data quality, risk, privacy, security, and compliance
Minimum of 5 years in the data governance enablement, communications, training, and change management with a proven track record of starting programs with minimal training
Working knowledge of data governance and management methodologies and operating models
Min 5+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in a large, complex organization (insurance or financial services preferred)
Knowledge of Data Maturity Model (DMM) and its implementation.
Expert in Microsoft products (PowerPoint and Excel).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
