Under general supervision, the Special Product Solutions Specialist supports products like self-directed brokerage (SDB) related activities, conversions, AMD , Proxy and other products as assigned. This position performs a wide variety of functional tasks including independently investigating and resolving issues, handling special projects as assigned and coordinating activities between internal departments and outside parties while minimizing risk to the Company and providing excellent customer service.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Completes the daily assigned self-directed brokerage activities, asset disbursements between various service providers.
Setting up the SDB accounts on the Empower platforms.
Works on the service requests for the various activities.
Manages assigned investment/brokerage Conversions for all lines of business. Leads entire conversion process including participant and plan level quality control, reconciliation, proving clear timelines, frequent updates and serves as the contact for questions and issues. This may include contact with Plan Sponsors and/or contra brokerage firms.
Manages assigned Distribution processes.
Documents procedures for internal team members and other departments (Plan Services, Operations) as it relates to products supported.
Analyzes daily errors/rejects and manage corrections based on daily reports. Works with internal clients and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and ensure prompt handling of any escalated issues requiring special handling through coordination with various areas within the organization, including functional processing areas, legal, compliance, systems, financial control, and service delivery teams.
Proactively proposes and implements process improvements and solutions to increase efficiencies.
Other duties as assigned.
OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced computer skills preferred, including Word, Excel and Outlook, with ability to master internal and external applications related to the role
1-2 years of experience Self-directed brokerage, asset transfer, conversions knowledge
Understanding of Roth and Non-Roth funds, Trades, Stock Market activities, fees etc
Graduate in B. Com or a master’s degree in finance/ portfolio management discipline.
Additional Non-Technical Skills for spec
Experience in the 401(K) Retirement Industry would be preferred
Knowing the management hierarchy and making new contact easily
Willingness to walk an extra mile to achieve excellence
Good command in English, both written & verbal
Experience with EASY is a plus
Team player, ownership quality, multi-tasking
Knowledge of share point.
