The Sr Consultant Process & Standards - AI & Automation is responsible to lead process excellence and operational maturity across our Technology organization—leveraging Lean methods and modern AI/GenAI-enabled automation to simplify work, improve quality, and accelerate delivery. This role is accountable for identifying opportunities, redesigning processes, and operating practices, defining standards and documentation, and driving implementation through adoption and measurement. It blends strong process discipline with the ability to partner cross-functionally to operationalize change and translate process needs into practical automation opportunities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process & operating model design
• Lead discovery and current-state assessments to understand workflows, pain points, handoffs, risks, and root causes.
• Redesign end-to-end processes using Lean principles (value stream mapping, waste elimination, standard work).
• Define or refine roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and handoffs (RACI/RASCI) to improve clarity and accountability.
• Facilitate working sessions with business and technology stakeholders to align on future state, sequencing, and outcomes.
Standards, documentation, and operationalization
• Create and maintain service and process documentation including standards, procedures, controls, playbooks, templates, job aids, and training materials to drive IT Operational maturity.
• Establish documentation lifecycle practices (ownership, versioning, review cadence, and change control).
• Drive operationalization through governance mechanisms, enablement, training, and communications.
• Define KPIs and measures (cycle time, throughput, rework, backlog aging, customer satisfaction/adoption) and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
AI / GenAI-enabled automation
• Identify and size opportunities to automate or augment work using AI/GenAI (e.g., intake triage, request routing, summarization, knowledge retrieval, document generation, quality checks).
• Re-engineer process workflows for AI into implementable requirements and partner with product/engineering/operations teams to deliver.
• Help define “responsible AI” ways of working (human-in-the-loop, validation steps, quality standards, documentation of controls).
Implementation and change delivery
• Manage process/standards initiatives from discovery through rollout, including scope, milestones, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
• Build practical implementation roadmaps and ensure changes are adopted and sustained—not just designed.
• Provide quality control throughout the lifecycle of deliverables and improvements.
Leadership
• Mentor junior staff and review/edit deliverables to ensure consistent quality and usability.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of experience in process improvement, process documentation/technical writing, business analysis, operations, and/or project delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to drive work from assessment → design → implementation → adoption → measurement.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Practical experience applying AI/GenAI to improve how work gets done (automation, augmentation, knowledge workflows, documentation acceleration).
• Ability to evaluate automation opportunities and describe tradeoffs (quality, risk/controls, change impact), even if you are not an engineer.
Preferred
• Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), ITIL, SAFe/Agile, BPMN, CMMI, or similar.
• Experience with workflow and documentation platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence, SharePoint, Power Platform).
• Experience defining operational metrics and dashboards (Power BI/Tableau or similar).
• Change management experience.
