The Benefits Specialist will provide administrative and operational support for the day-to-day maintenance of benefit programs. The right candidate will have a genuine interest in employee benefits and be highly organized, tech-savvy, and have a solid track record of commitment to both customer service and continuous process improvement.
What you will do
Provide proactive day-to-day administrative support for benefit processes, programs, and plans, such as medical and dental, life/AD&D and disability insurance, health savings accounts, 401(k), pension and COBRA.
Daily maintenance of employee benefits plans, including: tracking and maintaining employee enrollment activity/eligibility, enrollment/coverage issue escalation and resolution, and assisting with onboarding and offboarding activities related to benefits.
Provide exceptional customer service to associates and serve as escalated point of contact for answering employee benefits questions and providing issue resolution; direct employees to appropriate benefit plan resources and provide education on benefit plans, coverage, and policies.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of effective and proactive employee communication materials related to benefits plans, retirement plans, open enrollment, wellness programs, etc.
Assist with preparation of data and information for annual reporting/participant notification requirements, HR audits, and other compliance needs as required; supports regular internal audit activities to ensure data integrity and completeness.
Support and assist in the planning and implementation of annual benefits open enrollment activities.
Assist with the timely processing of associate contributions to retirement and health savings accounts.
Provide support and assistance with retirement and health & welfare program initiatives.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
1-3 years’ experience in a benefits administration
Solid foundational knowledge of benefits/general HR processes, regulations, and laws; strong knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA & PPACA. General understanding on ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel

Understanding of need and ability to act with urgency and provide accurate information to customers.

Base Salary Range
$55,800.00 - $76,800.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
