The Lead Analyst supports both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Investment Only Institutional Plan Sponsors. The incumbent will be responsible for monthly asset & investment reporting as well as annual regulatory reporting. The Lead will provide operational support to various teams within Empower, including, but not limited to, Client Facing, Empower Capital Management, and Empower Trust Company. The responsibilities may include acting as liaison between Project Managers/Business Analysts/Stakeholders and Operations. Additionally, this role requires subject matter expertise in several cross-functional areas and has autonomy of day-to-day decisions. This role also encompasses project work to improve our efficiencies, reduce costs while still maintaining high levels of control.

What you will do

  • Support client asset and investment reporting.

  • Support of new fund development, opening and closings as it relates to reporting needs.

  • Portfolio and Client level transition events (i.e., securities in-kind transfers, manager replacements, etc.)

  • Gather supporting documents for External and Internal audit review; support plan sponsor annual audits.

  • Participate in various analysis and special projects

  • Develop and implement team strategy, procedures and operational/business models.

  • Create and maintain workflows and initiate/implement process efficiency improvements in order to mitigate risk.

  • Subject-matter expertise in multiple facets of responsibilities.

  • Gather supporting documents for external and internal audit review; support plan sponsor annual audits.

  • Balance monitoring for benefit payment funding.

  • Quality review of work as well as training of other associates.

  • Responsible for more complex activities, including identification and resolution of issues.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent related experience.

  • 7+years of investment operations, financial reporting, or accounting experience.

  • Strong understanding of various investment types and accounting principles.

  • Results and detail oriented with ability to effectively handle multiple competing task/work responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.  

  • Excellent proactive communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.

  • Strong problem resolution skills and understanding of when to escalate a matter.

Base Salary Range

$77,900.00 - $110,000.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
