We are looking for future lawyers who have an interest in corporate law and the financial services industry and bring with them enthusiasm and passion for working in a fast-paced, growth-centric environment.
Interested candidates should be currently enrolled in a college or university and seeking a Juris Doctorate degree. Interns should be planning on attending the fall semester/quarter following the internship.
The externship will be during the Fall Semester 2026
This is a hybrid internship based in our Greenwood Village, CO office
Hours and schedule will be determined between the intern and manager
This is a paid position
What you will do
This externship will provide exposure to the Legal Team at Empower.
Extern will immerse themselves into the Legal Department and support tasks and projects for the team.
What you will bring
Currently enrolled in law school at a college or university and pursuing Juris Doctorate
Available for a 12-week externship Fall semester 2026
Desire to experience an in-person office environment as part of your externship and ability to work in our Greenwood Village, CO office
Interest in learning what it takes to be successful in business, particularly financial services
Strong partnership skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team and develop solid working partnerships with colleagues
Self-directed and comfortable working independently on an externship project
Proactively ask questions and seek help in order to successfully achieve goals and objectives while in an autonomous environment
Approach work with a sense of curiosity
Work with a customer service mindset and comfortable providing input to achieve goals
Ability to see the extern project to conclusion
Base Salary Range
$43,600.00 - $60,025.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
