The Senior Director, Funding Strategy & Nonqualified Deferred Compensation is a subject matter expert in nonqualified (“NQ”) informal funding strategy and products, focusing on corporate owned life insurance (“COLI”) and hybrid funding. Participates in establishing strategic direction of NQ COLI product offering, monitoring in force business and managing activities to achieve overall NQ product goals. The Sr Director is a point of contact for the independent Broker Dealer and may be considered to be the primary signer for COLI business.
What you will do
Subject matter expert in NQ informal funding strategies, including COLI products
Lead a staff of NQ dedicated associates who provide pre- and post-sale consulting related to informal funding strategies
Manage relationships with life insurance carrier partners and negotiate rates to improve carrier service capabilities
Oversee the revenue of the NQ COLI insurance book of business, including determining compensation schedules associated with new and add-on business
Partner with stakeholders and provides input for complex error resolution
Leverage insurance industry contacts to monitor relevant industries (retirement and insurance) for changes and trends to ensure Empower is market leader in service offering
Serve as a primary contact with independent Broker Dealer including daily business practices, revenue payment and consultant commissions
Interact with clients and advisors for generic informal funding discussions as well as client specific scenarios
Support documenting (contract language) informal funding asset administration services associated with COLI strategies
Support underwriting for informal funding capabilities where COLI is involved

What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree or related experience
10+ years of industry experience
High-level knowledge of NQ products, including COLI, providers, advisors, and the financial services industry
Demonstrated track record of successfully navigating and driving results in complex organizations
Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
Ability to manage and develop employees
FINRA Series 6, 26 and 63, and Life Insurance licenses within established timelines

Base Salary Range
$135,300.00 - $196,125.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
